Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country. |
Strain |
BALB/c (B cell); BALB/c (myeloma) |
Applications |
The antibody reacts type 8 and type 18 cytokeratins in immunoblots. The antibody can be used to detect cytokeratin in formalin or B-5 fixed paraffin sections. The antibody primarily reacts with protein antigens in ductal portions of glands and with primary and metastatic adenocarcinomas. Radioactively labeled UCD/PR 10.11 antibody can also be used to detect soluble extracellular cytokeratin in a quantitative sandwich radioimmunoassay. |
Disclosure |
This material is cited in a US or other Patent and may not be used to
infringe the claims. Depending on the wishes of the Depositor, ATCC may be
required to inform the Patent Depositor of the party to which the material was
furnished. This material may not have been produced or characterized by ATCC. |
Derivation |
Animals were immunized with soluble extracellular cytokeratin.
Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells.

Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC Hybri-Care Medium, Catalog No. 46-X. Hybri-Care Medium is supplied as a powder and should be reconstituted in 1 L cell culture grade water. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10% 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate for use with 5% CO2 in air atmosphere.
|
Subculturing |
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 105 cells/mL and maintain between 1 X 105 and 1 X 106 cells/mL.
